Overview
Focus: Plate tectonics, earthquakes and volcanoes. Grade: 4-6 Duration: 1 hour Max Numbers: 30 students per session Lesson Highlights: After a brief overview of plate tectonics, students will discover how earthquakes happen and how humans can manage their devastating impacts. We then go underground for a unique view of how volcanoes are formed and find out about their features, behaviours and the impacts they can have. We conclude with a group discussion about mitigation measures and how communities are kept safe. And as always, with time permitting, some Earth appreciation time with free choice videos! St Josephs College Brisbane"Our students really enjoyed the experience. They loved using the VR goggles and associated tech but also could connect to classroom learning about the formation of volcanoes and earthquakes."
