Students (virtually!) venture into an active volcano! We can see the processes that occur during an eruption such as the movement of magma underground as it makes its way to the surface, exploding as lava! The resulting ash cloud and pyroclastic flow, and what these things could mean to populations that reside within close proximity. We also discuss warning systems, detection and monitoring. |
