Overview
Focus: What is a wetland? Why are they important? What animals live there? (adaptations, ecosystems, sustainability) Duration: 1 hour Max Numbers: 30 students per session Lesson Highlights: Students will discover what makes wetlands & mangroves such special environments and why they are so important. We observe both above and below water, to see what's happening in these habitats. As well as meeting some of the wildlife that inhabit these areas, with a focus on migratory shorebirds. As a group, we will discuss threats to these habitats and the animals that live there and outline ways we can help protect them by simply changing our actions. As always, time permitting, students will have some Ocean Appreciation time at the end with some free choice videos. |
