Virtual Dissection

Picture
Overview
Focus: Dissection techniques, frog internal anatomy, comparitive anatomy, ethics of dissection.

Grade: 8-9

Duration: 1 hour

Max Numbers: 30 students per session

Lesson Highlights:

Why do we dissect things? Is it ethical? What can we learn from it? All the big questions... Students can form their own educated opinions!

This time round, our little Freddo is virtual and there'll be no mess to clean up afterwards!

Students will learn about frog anatomy, dissection techniques and the features of amphibians.

By viewing different 3D models,
students will be able to compare the internal anatomy of frogs with fish, humans and even a sea star.

We also discuss how studying biology can lead to a greater understanding of animals, which can in turn help with species conservation.

As always, time permitting, we allow for some 'nature appreciation' time at the end of the lesson with some free choice VR videos.
